The First Poll is in and voters tell Abbott what they really think of his negative attack on EVERYTHING and it seems that its not doing his party or his job any favors according to a special Morgan poll

Prime Minister Julia Gillard is still preferred as Prime Minister (49%, up 3% since December 8-12, 2010) over Opposition Leader Tony Abbott (36%, down 3%) according to a special telephone Morgan Poll conducted over the last three days (February 1-3, 2011).

Gary Morgan says:

“This special telephone Morgan Poll conducted over the last three nights, February 1-3, 2011, shows more electors believe Prime Minister Julia Gillard (49%, up 3%) is the ‘Better Prime Minister’ than Opposition Leader Tony Abbott (36%, down 3%).

“More electors approve of Gillard’s handling of the job (46%, down 3%) than disapprove (42%, up 4%) while Abbott’s disapproval (46%, up 7%) is now at its highest since July 20/21, 2010 and is now clearly higher than his approval (39%, down 11%) — which has dropped significantly.

“There are also clear differences between States in how electors view Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott. Queensland is the State least in favour of Julia Gillard — the only State in which more electors believe Abbott (47%) would make a ‘Better Prime Minister’ than Gillard (36%).Far more electors in Queensland disapprove (53%) of Gillard’s handling of the job as Prime Minister than approve (38%) — Queensland is the only State in which more electors disapprove of Gillard’s handling of the job than approve.”

This special telephone Morgan Poll was conducted over the last three nights of February 1-3, 2011, with an Australia-wide cross section of 561 electors.

More polls will be released next week once Question time starts from Tuesday and the libs will be watching them very closely and making the decision to DUMP ABBOTT or keep HIM around
